Dr. Brennan is a Board-Certified Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist through the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services and the Minnesota Medical Board.
Brennan graduated from AOMA Graduate school of Integrative Medicine in Austin, TX, in 2014 and began practicing soon after finishing the four Boards of Acupuncture, Biomedicine, Foundations of Oriental Medicine, and Chinese Herbology. He was recently awarded a Doctorate in Acupuncture from the Pacific College of Health and Science. Now, after almost ten years of pre-chiropractic, acupuncture, and oriental medicine training, he is proud to open Onalaska Wellness.
Brennan started his career in health care after recovering from a pituitary tumor. While beginning his chiropractic education, he soon became convinced that acupuncture was his future and transferred to Oriental Medicine school. His healing mantra is the importance of treating individuals and not just symptoms - knowing that each person has a remarkable story to share and the importance of getting to the heart of the matter.
Brennan specializes in musculoskeletal dysfunction and orthopedic acupuncture. He has advanced training in the Exstore exam and restoration techniques. This technique works exceptionally well for recovering from sports injuries, acute injuries, and cross-fit recovery.
He is adept at treating chronic pain conditions as well. One of the most critical questions when beginning treatments with a pain patient is determining whether the pain is merely mechanical in nature, or is it a symptom of a more involved chronic systemic issue.
Being a Wisconsin-native, he always loved the natural beauty of the La Crosse area. After living in Onalaska while working at FSPA Community Acupuncture, he dreamed of one day returning to the city. When he isn't working, he spends most of his time with his dog Samadhi or helping take care of his 86-year old mother.
